Karlie Kloss has spoken out about her in-laws Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump –and the clashes of their political beliefs.

The model has been public about being a Democrat and her husband, Joshua Kushner, brother of Jared, showed support for his wife posting about voting for Joe Biden during the 2020 election.

Commenters online have targeted Kloss and trolled her for her connection to the Trump family. Kloss told the WSJ Magazine that she had to “grow really thick skin as it relates to [being] impacted by other people’s opinions.”

“Whether they love me or they hate me – because I’ve experienced all of it. I’ve learned to stay away from the comment section.”

Kloss has been focusing on using her passion for activism and projects, such as her Kode with Klossy program, which offers free computer coding camps to female-identifying and nonbinary 13-18 year-olds.

“I just try and… speak out on things that I am authentically passionate about,” she said. “I live my life, and try to show my values through my actions.”

The model had openly campaigned for Hilary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election. Her in-laws became senior advisers for then-President Donald Trump.

“It’s been hard,” the model told British Vogue in July 2019. “But I choose to focus on the values that I share with my husband, and those are the same liberal values that I was raised with and that have guided me throughout life.”

It’s not clear how close Kloss is with her in-laws, but it is reportedly a somewhat fraught relationship.

However, in March, the Jared and Ivanka couple were pictured sharing a kiss outside of Kloss’ Miami home. The couple was most likely visiting the new baby, Levi, who was born that month.

The visit came three months after the Capitol Insurrection by Trump supporters, and Kloss went on social media to condemn the rioters.

Kushner and Trump were recently given a chilly reception at the Louis Vuitton fashion show in Miami.
