Singer and reality TV star Jessica Simpson was recently spotted in a curvy purple dress at Nobu in Los Cabos, Mexico, where she was joined by friend Joyce Bonelli.
This appearance comes after she lost 100 pounds after giving birth to her third daughter. The weight loss caused much scrutiny, as many fans believed that she was using Ozempic, which, though traditionally is a diabetes medication, can include side effects such as weight loss.
In a 2023 interview with Bustle, Simpson clarified that her drastic transformation was not due to Ozempic but rather “willpower.”
“Am I going to let the negativity derail me? No, I’m too old for that. I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me. It doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt,” Simpson said.
Simpson’s tips for success include following a meal plan and walking 14,000 steps daily. She sleeps at least seven hours per night, attends training sessions three times per week and consumes three healthy meals and two snacks daily. This strict regimen is part of celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak’s Body Reset Diet, and Pasternak has facilitated Simpson’s weight loss journey since the beginning.
“It’s about balancing in a way that doesn’t make it painful or too much of a departure from your life before that,” Pasternak told People.
After the controversy surrounding her weight loss, Simpson was inspired to launch her fashion collection, The Jessica Simpson Collection.
“Okay, everybody is going to talk about my weight all the time; I might as well make money off of it and turn it into a business of selling clothes and acceptance,” she told Extra.
Previously, Simpson underwent a tummy tuck procedure to hide stretch marks and loose skin from her pregnancies. She clarified that the procedure was not meant for weight loss but to recover her body from the physical impacts of pregnancies and motherhood.
Last year, Simpson received intense backlash for posting photos of her 11-year-old daughter in provocative clothes.
