An attorney for Britney Spears filed a blistering court document condemning her father Jamie Spears for repeatedly avoiding giving a deposition to account for his suspected misconduct during her conservatorship.

Britney’s attorney, Matthew Rosengart, has asked the court to compel Jamie Spears to appear for his deposition, as he has not come in for it since he was first notified of the request on October 21, 2021. “After using his daughter’s money for more than 13 years to fund his legal fees and expenses, for the first time, Mr. Spears will now have to pay his own legal fees.”

Jamie has indeed requested his remaining legal fees be paid by Spears, even after the Conservatorship was ended. Rosengart wrote that Jamie Spears is “dodging” the deposition to avoid questions about his management of his daughter’s money, and around the shocking revelation that he may have had a surveillance device in her room.

Rosengart said in the motion that Jamie has avoided deposition notices by challenging dates in the past, and said on two occasions he refused to come in because he said he would have to travel from his residence in Lousiana to California, when “Mr. Spears initially did not object to this location.” He also said Jamie had already agreed to sit down “in any city in the country.” He labeled this behavior by Jamie over the past six months as “stonewalling and obstruction.”

The attorney also said Jamie’s conduct “demonstrates just how misguided he is as a fiduciary and a father.” The final portion of the motion was addressed to Jamie specifically and asked him to “be decent. Please, stop harassing and bullying your daughter. Please, leave your daughter alone.”

Britney’s conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, and she said in her June 2021 testimony that gained significant media attention that she hopes her father is charged with “conservatorship abuse’ and sent to jail.
