Britney Spears’ Father, Jamie Spears, Requests To ‘Immediately Terminate’ Conservatorship

Jamie Spears has filed a court request for the immediate termination of his daughter Britney Spears’ 13-year conservatorship.

Court documents, which were filed on November 1, state, “Jamie sees no reason why the conservatorship should continue for any amount of time and asserts he has no interest in the Conservatorship continuing.”

Jamie’s attorney Alex Weingarten also wrote in the documents that “Britney’s recent testimony and requests to take personal control of her estate and affairs have made clear that continuing the Conservatorship is contrary to her desires.”

Weingarten added that Jamie was focused on ending his long-held role of controlling his daughter’s finances and health and business choices to show his love for Britney.

“Jamie unconditional loves and supports his daughter. Full stop. As he has done her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her,” Weingarten wrote. “For the last 13 years, that included serving as her Conservator. Now, it means ending her Conservatorship.”

Jamie’s request for termination comes after Britney’s attorney Matthew Rosengart filed documents on October 28 that claimed Jamie had “ulterior motives” for unexpectedly reversing his original stance on his daughter’s conservatorship after years of insisting that it was necessary.

Jamie has received discovery requests from Rosengart seeking information about the role of the state’s former business manager, Tri Star Sports and Entertainment Group, according to the documents.

The documents from Rosengart that were filed on October 1, questioned whether Jamis was “motivated by a desire to bolster his reputation or to avoid his deposition of to avoid his deposition his reputation or responding to the outstanding discovery served on him August.”

Weingarten insisted on Monday that Jamie “has nothing to hide regarding his administration of Britney’s estate.”

“Indeed, Jamie believes that every aspect of the Conservatorship should be made available for public examination – not be targeted leaks and misinformation that have resulted in such tabloid fodder,” the documents read. “Accordingly, Jamie affirms that he will unconditionally cooperate in transferring all files regarding the estate to Britney’s counsel without delay.”

Britney’s next court hearing I set for November 12 and is expected to focus on the total termination of the conservatorship. The singer filed a petition for it to end in September.
