Anna Wintour Takes Bill Nighy To Met Gala As Her Date, Fueling Romance Rumors

Vogue editor Anna Wintour, 73, took actor Bill Nighy, 73, as her 2023 Met Gala date on Monday night.

The two have been rumored to be dating since 2021 when they were spotted at several restaurants, fashion shows and theaters.

The Gala theme this year was “in honor of Karl” as a tribute to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s newest exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, in New York.

“It’s a very emotional night for me,” Wintour said in a tribute to Lagerfeld. “I loved Karl so much and it’s just wonderful to see so many people who are turning out to honor him, and give him the recognition that he so deserves.”

For the event, Wintour looked elegant in a long-sleeved cat-patterned Chanel couture dress with a white slip underneath. Nighy looked sharp wearing a dark, navy blue suit which helped bring out the blue accents in Wintour’s dress.

As pictures of the two arm-in-arms started floating around, so did rumors of their romance. However, a Nighy representative quickly ended it, saying, “Bill and Anna have simply been great friends for two decades. They are not in a relationship.”
