Alec Baldwin wants to invite First Lady Melania Trump to “come over to the light,” as well as join him on Saturday Night Live.
Following the wake of her controversial outfit choice last week, a green Zara jacket with the words, “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?” on the back, Baldwin tweeted directly to the First Lady.
“Dear Melania — We know what you’re thinking. What you’re feeling. You are quaking w anticipation,” he wrote. “Shuddering w a strange, newfound courage. Come. Come over to the light. We will welcome you as a hero in ways you never imagined possible. And then do SNL w me. Sincerely, Alec.”
He then tweeted a follow-up tweet of the two of them together with the caption, “We have a chair waiting for you in the [Saturday Night Live] make-up room.”
While Melania has not personally addressed Baldwin following his tweets, her communications director, Stephanie Grisham, spoke out saying that Baldwin must have a “crush” on the First Lady. “He mentioned her again? I used to say he was using her name for publicity, but now I’m starting to think Mr. Baldwin may have a crush on Mrs. Trump that is becoming borderline obsessive,” she said in a statement.

In this past couple years, Baldwin has been known to impersonate President Donald Trump, with Cecily Strong as Melania. However, the President has openly dismissed Baldwin’s portrayal.
We will have to wait to find out if Melania accepts the offer, as the premiere of the 44th season of Saturday Night Live has not been released yet, however is expected to come back in the fall.
