The much anticipated teaser for James Bobin‘s Alice Through The Looking Glass was released on Monday, and in the opening seconds of the clip, Alan Rickman‘s voice is heard beckoning Alice back to Wonderland. Disney tweeted the teaser with the caption, “It’s about Time. See Alice Through the Looking Glass in theatres May 27. ?”
The movie is a sequel to Burton’s first Alice In Wonderland and features the star studded cast with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen. Before his death in January, Rickman lent his voice for The Blue Caterpillar.
The film continues Alice’s journey, played by Mia Wasikowska. She is on a quest to save the Mad Hatter from the pressures of a ticking Chronosphere, a device that powers all of time itself.
Burton’s adaptation of Lewis Carrol’s story in 2010 made over a billion dollars at the box office when it was first released. The sequel is set to be released in May of this year.
