New Episode Of ‘Loki’ Leaves Fans More Excited For ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Following the fourth episode of the Marvel Cinematic television series Loki airing on the Disney+ streaming service, many fans have connected the story of the series to the highly anticipated upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home. The series was created by Michael Waldron and stars Tom Hiddleston as the title character. The show sees a variant of Loki from The Avengers in 2012 where he meets an alternate female version of himself named Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and the two go on an adventure to find answers about the multiverse and how a shady organization called the Time Variance Authority is forcibly controlling it.

The fourth episode,“The Nexus Event,” sees Loki and Sylvie captured by the TVA as they are nearly killed on a dying planet. When Loki manages to convince the somewhat reasonable TVA Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) that he and all the other TVA agents are variants like him, Mobius is “pruned” by the judge of the TVA Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who then takes the two Loki variants to the timekeepers. After discovering that the timekeepers are robots, Loki is pruned by Renslayer while Sylvie manages to disarm the judge and force her to reveal her secrets. In the mid-credits scene of the episode, Loki wakes up to find several other versions of himself who order him to come with them.

Following the release of the fourth episode of Loki, many fans have assumed that Spider-Man: No Way Home will connect to the show due to the fact that the multiverse is rumored to play a large role in the film with actors like Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina returning to play Electro and Doctor Octopus from the films that took place outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has also been rumored for quite some time that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will return as their versions of Spider-Man, with the Loki episode only fueling the rumors.
