Ben Affleck as Batman in 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice'
The CW aired new footage of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice special as part of CW’s DC Films special.
In the “extended first look,” excited fans got to see Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne. The plot of the movie follows two super heroes pitted against each other with Batman nursing a grudge against Superman. It seems Superman and Zod destroyed most of the city, and Batman isn’t too happy about it.
In addition to new and old footage, the extended look also features Affleck and Cavill explaining the motivations of their characters.
“Superman has made the leap and is there for everyone to call judgement on,” said Cavill.
“Batman has evolved, he is darker and older,” said Affleck.
Director Zack Snyder also explains how he drew inspiration from the comic books when it came to creating the story but took a “modern day twist and paints him into something new” with the villain, Lex Luthor. Luthor pits the two superheroes against each other through his own mindgames and manipulation.
At the end of the clip, viewers also catch a short glimpse of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and a few other members of the Justice League.
