New Amsterdam‘s Tyler Labine is currently in the hospital recovering after suffering from a “potentially fatal blood clot.”

He announced his hospitalization on social media after believing he had a simple stomachache. He posted a video that featured several clips of him in an ambulance and at the hospital.

He updated fans saying, “Sometimes it’s a Tuesday and you’re walking around with a tummy ache so you try to sleep it off. Then sometimes you wake up on a Weds with a stomach ache so bad you decide to go to the ER at your local hospital. And then sometimes your tummy ache turns out to be a potentially fatal blood clot in your intestines and liver and you have to spend the next 3 days in the hospital trying not to die. Just sometimes.”

He reassured fans that he is expected to be okay and is currently in recovery. “I’m doing alright. Slow recovery but I’m here with my family supporting me and my lovely girlfriend Martha taking care of me. I’m counting my blessings and just possibly reassessing what’s really important to me in this life.”

He ended the statement by making sure he thanked his fans and friends for their heartfelt sentiments, “Thanks, everyone. SO much love.”

Many were worried for Labine and wished for a speedy recovery.

Actor Zachary Levi wrote, “Praying for you, brother! 😬🙏”

Ryan Robbins similarly commented, “Dude 😳. Thinking about you, my man ❤️”

This is not the actor’s first trip to the hospital. Last November, Labine needed surgery for an inguinal hernia. He similarly posted about his health condition on Instagram.
