Neve Campbell has apparently had a fair share of terrifying situations she’s gone through outside of her participation in the Scream franchise. When she was just 17 working on a film, the actress revealed that she was attacked by her scene partner: a bear.

Campbell shared this horrifying story when she stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday to promote the new Scream movie. While she kept the name of the movie a secret, Campbell said that her character was “one with the animals,” and the attack happened when she had to feed the bear onscreen.

“He grabs me by the leg and he pulls me through the forest. My mother was visiting set and she’s screaming. The whole crew is frozen because nobody can believe what’s happening,” Campbell began explaining to a dumbstruck Kelly Clarkson. She humorously added, “All I can think to say is, ‘He’s biting me,’ like it’s not obvious.”

Eventually, the set’s animal handler got the bear to let her go by throwing rocks at it. Campbell then shared that after a harrowing attack, her “people pleaser” instincts kicked in and she asked the director “Let’s do it again.”

Campbell is reuniting with her former Scream co-stars Courtney Cox and David Arquette for the fifth installment of the hit franchise, which premiered on January 14.
