Netflix has announced the cast and episode names for the fourth season of Black Mirror.
Each of the six episodes of the newest season of the British tech drama has been named, and the casts, director, and writer of each has been revealed. Jodie Foster directs one episode of the series, entitled “Arkangel,” and stars Rosemarie Dewitt from La La Land and Mad Men. Toby Haynes directed another, “USS Callister.” He has directed episodes of Dr. Who and Sherlock in the past. Charlie Brooker wrote five of the six episodes by himself, and got help from William Bridges on “USS Callister.”
Interestingly, Netflix stated in the release that the information was given “in no particular order,” meaning the order in which the episodes will air is still unknown.
Black Mirror also released a teaser trailer for the new season, which premieres sometime later this year, though Netflix has not said. The trailer gave a brief clip of each of the upcoming episodes. From the trailer, it appears that the series will tackle everything from Star Trek-like space travel in “USS Callister” to the fear of iPads in “Arkangel.” “Hang the DJ” featured a relationship between two apparent strangers, while “Metalhead” appears all in black and white and features a terrifying robot beast. The clip from “Black Museum” gives the idea of a brain transplant gone wrong.
