Blue Ivy joined her mother, Beyoncé, on stage for the halftime show at the NFL Christmas Day game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans.
In a white bodysuit with chaps and a cowboy hat, Beyoncé performed songs from her acclaimed album Cowboy Carter, with support from fellow country artists Tanner Addlell, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts and Brittany Spencer. Blue Ivy could be seen in the crowd of background dancers during the set.
Toward the end of her mother’s performance, Blue Ivy joined Beyoncé for some square dancing during the hit single “Texas Hold ‘Em.” Beyoncé even adjusted one of the song lyrics to apply to her daughter, altering the line, “Then spin me in the middle, Boy, I can’t read your mind,” by replacing “boy” with “Blue.”
A source close to Beyoncé revealed to The Daily Mail, “Blue now more than ever has the bug for performing…This performance was very important to her. She didn’t want to embarrass herself or her mom.”
“She loves the possibilities she has in the future to record more music, with and without her parents, and she is looking forward to the next several years to cut out the artist she wants to be…This performance was an incredible stepping stone into her future dreams,” they continued.
Blue Ivy has performed with her mother on various occasions: in 2023, she appeared on Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour to dance during “Halo.” She was also a backup dancer at the 2022 Oscars performance, and in January, she performed at an exclusive event in Dubai.
The 12-year-old recently made her on-screen debut in Disney’s live-action prequel Mufasa: The Lion King, featuring well-known actors Donald Glover and Aaron Pierre. Blue Ivy made her musical debut in 2012 on her father Jay-Z’s single “Glory,” making her the youngest person ever to Chart on Billboard.
