Neil Nitin Mukesh, a well-known Bollywood actor, has reportedly been tapped for a role in the sixth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Mukesh, 33, will be joining the cast of Game of Thrones as a royal, though from which family in the Seven Kingdoms is unknown, according to U.K. paper The Independent.
While filming Hindi-language film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in India, Mukesh caught the attention of stunt director Greg Powell. Powell, who’s directed stunt work on Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fast and Furious 6 and the Harry Potter films, put in a good word for the actor with Game of Thrones producers and turned around with a role offer.
“Greg has directed two sword fighting sequences in PRDP for which I had to train for over a month in order to get the stance and wrist movements right,” Mukesh told the Mumbai Mirror. “He seemed pretty impressed with all the hard work I put in and made the offer when we were shooting for the climax scene a few months ago.”
When asked if he would be willing to strip down for the coveted part on the hit medieval-fantasy series, Mukesh revealed that he wouldn’t shy away from it.
“I have gone nude for Jail so why not for this ” he said, referencing a film he made in 2009. “I am not intimidated by it as an actor.”
Game of Thrones’ sixth season will premiere on HBO sometime next spring.
