A former NBA G-League player has confessed to killing a woman whose remains were found earlier this month.
According to reports, Chance Comanche, a former player for the Stockton Kings, and his accomplice, girlfriend Sakiri Harnden, coordinated a months-long plan to murder 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers in Nevada.
According to obtained texts, Comanche and Sakiri attempted to separate Rodgers from her friends, and then kill and dispose of her body.
Rodgers was reported missing by her friends on December 7, with her body being found in Henderson, Nevada.
“I cannot comment on the substance of any statements made to law enforcement,” Comanche’s attorney Michael Goldstein said. “We made our initial appearance yesterday, and the allegations will be addressed in court.”
Comanche, who is being held without bond, appeared in a Sacramento, California, county court Tuesday. He agreed not to fight his transfer in custody to Nevada.
Harnden, who was Comache’s alleged accomplice and girlfriend, is being held without bond in a Las Vegas jail.
According to the affidavit, Harnden and Rodgers, who were both sex workers, had a dispute with each other over a Rolex watch. The plan was to have Comanche pose as a customer who would tie Rodgers’ hands behind her back, where then Comanche would use a cord to strangle them.
Before the arrest, Comache was a player for the Stockton Kings, the G-League affiliate for the Sacramento Kings.
