Nathaniel Marston Dies

Marston died this week following a severe car accident Oct. 30 that had left him paralyzed. His mother, Elizabeth Jackson, confirmed his death on Facebook.

“Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share this devastating news,” Jackson wrote. “My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries. Nathaniel passed away peacefully as I held him in my arms.”

Jackson revealed earlier this month that Marston broke his neck and back in several places in addition to suffering other life-threatening internal injuries in a car accident in Reno, Nev. In an update, she shared that he had made it through a surgery, but that he had yet to regain full consciousness.

“Nathaniel update: Please continue to cover Nathaniel with your prayers. While he made it through surgery he is being slow to wake up,” Jackson wrote. “He opened his eyes once at 5AM this morning.. please pray for him to become more responsive… Thank you for your prayers love and support… Sending all of you peace love and light.”

Jackson, aware of the rumor mill – particularly in light of Marston’s past struggles with substance abuse – also made it known that he was sober at the time of the accident.

Marston starred on One Life to Live from 2001-2007 after starring on fellow soap opera As the World Turns. On the big screen, Marston appeared in The Craft, Love is All There Is and Ordinary Sinner. After leaving One Life to Live, Marston had returned to TV in guest-starring roles on White Collar, Castle and Blue Bloods.
