Natalie Portman showed up at the Washington, D.C. premiere of her latest film Jackie.
The 35-year-old actress will portray former First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the new film. She attended the premiere at the Newseum and also a related panel discussion.
The movie opens in limited release on Dec. 2 before going nationwide Dec. 9. The story revolves around the tragic death of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, as well as the struggles in his wife’s life.
“It is such an incredibly traumatic, tragic, violent event that happened to her,” Portman told WTOP. “So it’s absolutely what you would imagine emotionally, that it would range from intense grief, disorientation, anger, dark humor,” the actress added. “It sort of allows all these different aspects of grief to come out.”
