Natalie Portman Pregnant With Baby Number Two

Actress Natalie Portman is pregnant with second child with husband Benjamin Millepied.

NATALIE PORTMAN PREGNANT

Portman, who has always done a good job at staying out of the celebrity limelight, is expecting again. The actress does not have any social media accounts, and so debuted her baby bump on the red carpet.

Portman has been busy with four films on her plate. Her directorial debut, Hewbrew-language A Tale of Love and Darkness, is based on the autobiographical book by Amos OzTerrence Malick‘s Knight of Cups came out earlier this year, with Portman acting alongside Christian Bale. Portman portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy in Pablo Lorrain‘s Jackie, which had its world premiere at the 2016 Venice Film Festival. It’s “definitely up there,” Portman said when asked if playing the first lady was the most difficult role for her. And finally, the actress starred alongside Lily-Rose Depp in the 1930s drama Planetarium, which also debuted in Venice, though out of competition.

The Oscar-winner recently moved back to Los Angeles from Paris, where she was living with Millepied and their son Aleph. The couple moved to Paris in 2014 when Millspied was appointed Director of Dance for the Paris Opera Ballet. “As it turns out, the City of Light not only fosters a vibrant, creative culture—it also allows women to feel, well, sexier too,” Portman told E News in 2015. “I confess, I feel more sexy.”

Portman’s own production company, Handsomecharlie Productions, which she created to provide women with more opportunities in filmmaking, entirely spearheaded A Tale of Love and Darkness. “I’ve been working for almost 25 years and made over 40 films and I worked with my first female director on a feature last year,” she told Business Insider. “And it’s still only the one… the issue we have with female directors here is not the case in France at all. Especially with the young generation, there are even more women than men making movies right now.”

Portman plans to keep her private life private, and only speak out to promote her work, a colleague’s, or the work of something she believes in.
