Natalie Portman Finalizes Divorce From Husband Benjamin Millepede After Affair Scandal

Actress Natalie Portman has officially divorced her husband, French choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

Portman filed for divorce in July of last year after 11 years of marriage. The divorce was recently finalized in France.

Portman, 42, holds dual citizenship in the United States and Israel and is widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s leading actresses. She began her career as a child star in Luc Besson‘s thriller Leon: The Professional and went on to achieve success in blockbuster films such as Star Wars and Marvel movies, as well as independent and art-house productions.

Portman first met Millepied in 2009 while filming the psychological horror film Black Swan, where she delivered a performance that earned her the Best Actress Academy Award. Millepied not only appeared in the movie but also provided choreography for it.

The couple tied the knot in California in 2012 and have two children together: a son named Aleph, 12, and a daughter Amalia, 7.

Last year, reports surfaced in the media about an alleged extramarital affair involving Millepied, but neither Portman nor Millepied publicly addressed the allegations.

Portman recently starred alongside Julianne Moore and Charles Melton in Todd Haynes‘ 2023 film May December, which has been nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the upcoming Oscars. Her portrayal of Elizabeth Berry, an actress studying the life of a controversial woman, earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy, or Musical. She is also set to star in Guy Ritchie‘s heist film Fountain of Youth alongside John Krasinski and produce the limited series Lady in the Lake for Apple TV+.

Meanwhile, Millepied recently served as the choreographer for Denis Villeneuve‘s epic film Dune: Part Two, where he crafted the desert sandwalk scenes performed by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya‘s characters to evade giant sandworm attacks. In 2022, Millepied made his directorial debut with Carmen, a musical drama that featured Melissa Barrera and Paul Mescal.
