Natalie Portman looked elegant in ivory at the premiere of A Tale of Love and Darkness in New York City Monday evening.
Portman hit the red carpet in an ivory tea-length Dior dress. She paired the embellished number with a statement Dior earring and gold Dior heels for the premiere of her directorial debut. Portman, incidentally, is a Dior brand ambassador.
In between posing for photos on the red carpet, Portman talked about what it was like getting in the director’s chair for the first time in her film career for A Tale of Love and Darkness.
“You have to make 1,000 decisions a day as a director, and I found when I started I wasn’t always good at saying what I wanted,” Portman explained to Us Weekly. “By the end, of course, I was like, ‘I want that, that and that.’ If you say things in a kind and respectful way, everyone on your team wants [it too].”
In another interview, Portman said that being a parent helped her as a director. “Well, it is actually quite a parental role, I think, being a director,” the Black Swan actress said on GMA. “Because your job is to make everyone comfortable, make sure everyone’s okay, and also get the best out of them.”
