After the singer, Naomi Judd passed away after a battle with depression just one day before her mother-daughter duo The Judds was going to be honored in the Country Music Hall of Fame, heartfelt tributes have been pouring in for the late singer and her family as they come to grips with the tragic news.
Naomi’s daughter and second-half of The Judds, Wynonna Judd, gave an emotional statement about her mother during her induction into the Hall of Fame. “I didn’t prepare anything tonight because I knew mom would probably talk the most,” she began. “I’m gonna make this fast, because my heart’s broken, and I feel so blessed. It’s a very strange dynamic to be this broken and this blessed… Though my heart’s broken, I will continue to sing, because that’s what we do.”
Dolly Parton also reflected on her friendship with Naomi in a statement online where she said, “Naomi and I were close. We were very similar. We were the same age and both Capricorns. We loved big hair, makeup and music. I have always loved Ashley, Wynonna, and Naomi.”
Brown will be accompanied by guest artists Scotty McCreery, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ashley Cooke and Dasha.
