Supermodel Naomi Campbell is no stranger to the red carpet, and the outfit that she wore to the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival on Monday at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, is sure to join her ever-growing repertoire of iconic looks that reaffirm her title as queen of the catwalk.

Campbell attended the premiere of South Korean director Park Chan-wook‘s crime film, Decision to Leave (Hyeojil Kyolshim), in an ensemble that matched the movie’s modern spin on film noir,

Her gown, haute couture from Maison Valentino, consisted of a full A-line skirt for the bottom and two thick straps that featured a plunging neckline and an open side for the top.

Two white bows that extended down her mid-back held the straps and sat at her shoulders, lending the ensemble an air of romantic femininity. Campbell’s pin-straight hair accentuated the dress’ abundant feather detailing.

The entire look made for an elegant study in contrasts that breathed new life into the familiar all-black evening gown commonly spotted on the red carpet.

Adorning Campbell’s neck was a jewel-encrusted entwined silver necklace that appeared almost serpentine. The braided collar culminated in a single deep blue gem cut into a teardrop shape that sat on her sternum and stole the show with its sheer size alone. The bareness of Campbell’s top allowed for her jewelry to take center stage and elevate the look from elegant to queenly.

On her hands, Campbell wore a matching colored ring that rivaled the size of her collar’s gem, this time in an emerald cut. She added more glitz to her wrist by stacking silver bracelets.

Campbell opted for a more subdued makeup look, pairing eyeshadow with a barely-there shimmer and lips in a muted pink. Her winged black eyeliner, though subtle, complemented the evening gown’s avian elements.
