In a very candid Oprah interview, supermodel Naomi Campbell was reduced to tears while answering the talk show host’s questions about her reputation as a "petulant diva." The 39-year-old fashion icon sat down with the queen of talk and admitted to having a bad temper and agreed she "sees red" when things don’t go her way. The heart-to-heart conversation lasted an hour, with an emotional Campbell telling Oprah that her infamous outbursts "comes from a deeper place, from another type of emotional disorder," and that she’s "striving to be a better person."
The London-born supermodel attributed her furious temper to "abandonment issues," to which her mother, Valeria Morris, who was in the studio audience that day, took responsibility for. "I do feel I abandoned her," Morris told Oprah, when she traveled the world to pursue her own dreams while her daughter was growing up. Of the most recent incidents portraying the supermodel’s anger management issues was when her name was linked to "blood diamonds" and she abruptly walked out of a TV interview knocking the camera aside.
Earlier this year, reports of an altercation with her New York chauffeur had people talking about her diva attitude yet again, which also brought back the now-famous phone-throwing incident in 2007 when she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor court. "I am ashamed of everything I’ve ever done," Campbell said. "I take responsibility for the things that I have done and I do feel a great sense of shame." –KRIS ALCANTARA
