Mythbusters is doing a special Breaking Bad themed episode, to celebrate the beginning of the final season of the AMC hit show. In the special, scientists Jamie Hyneman, Adam Savage and the rest of their crew will test some of the science used as major plot points in the past five (four and a half?) seasons of Breaking Bad.

Creator Vince Gilligan and star Aaron Paul will join the Mythbusters in the episode, which will feature experiments testing explosives and the decomposition effects of acid. In anticipation of the special, Mythbusters released an exclusive clip to EW detailing their first step in testing the ‘myth’ that Walter White (Bryan Cranston) could really have made an explosive device out of fulminated mercury.

For safety reasons, the Mythbusters team decides to test the explosives on, what else, a pumpkin.

The final eight episodes of Breaking Bad begin airing August 11 at 9 P.M. on AMC. The Mythbusters: Breaking Bad special will air August 12 at 10 P.M. on Discovery Channel.

Catch up on Breaking Bad seasons 1-5 with the special Comic-Con reel.
