My Chemical Romance Releases New Single ‘Foundations Of Decay’

The legendary rock band My Chemical Romance has released its first new music in almost ten years since its last release in 2014 soon after the band’s breakup. The band first reunited out of the public eye in 2017 and announced a reunion tour in 2019 that has since been delayed multiple times due to Covid-19.

Fans are overjoyed with the revelation of new music from the band, which could have had just as much fanfare touring the U.S. and Canada with all of their old hits. Gerard Way delivers an incredible vocal performance, and the song’s production builds and falls satisfyingly over its six-minute runtime to a loud and driving but melodic climax.

The track is produced by Way, Doug McKean, and MCR’s guitarist Ray Toro.

Clearly, the band is taking this reunion very seriously and they aren’t just seeing this just as an opportunity to fleece some extra cash off their nostalgic fans. Seeing the band actually produce new music together instead of just tolerating each other for the tour dates is a great example to other groups considering a reunion right now.

Tickets for the tour are available here. It kicks off with a leg of shows in the UK and Europe beginning May 16, 2022. Their first U.S. show will be this August at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
