Movie Producer Dillon Jordan Sentenced To Five Years In Prison For Running Prostitution Ring

Dillon Jordan, who produced the 2018 Maggie Gyllenhaal drama The Kindergarten Teacher, which won the directing award at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, pled guilty to operating an interstate prostitution business.

Jordan ran the ring f seven years from 2010 to 2017, providing women to wealthy clients for up to $15,000 and organizing sex parties.

He was sentenced to a maximum of five years in prison. U.S. District Judge John P. Cronan said he wished to impose a longer prison sentence if he could, citing the physical and emotional toll inflicted upon the women involved.

One victim said she nearly died when Jordan invited her to a party and fed her a mix of drugs that gave her permanent brain damage.

Jordan founded PaperChase Films in 2013. He allegedly used the movie production company and a California event-planning firm to launder money from the prostitution ring.

He also attempted to fund his movies with his prostitution business. Several well-known investors and producers were also clients of his prostitution ring. Presentence documents stated that at least one client invested $250,000 in Jordan’s movie projects.

Prosecutors claimed that Jordan was released from prison in Cuba in 2010 after serving eight years for sex crimes. Soon after, he began operating his high-end prostitution ring.

Defense lawyers wrote that Jordan decided to enter the sex industry after a childhood “replete with physical, sexual and psychological abuse.” They claimed he was only paid fees to organize parties with adult sex workers or to book women to attend adult-themed shows.
