Mötley Crüe is set to play their final concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday night. The band announced that a full length concert film of their final performance will be available to fans in 2016.
The band announced the news on their website on Wednesday, saying that The Final Show will not only include the concert in its entirety — but also Tommy Lee‘s “Cruecifly” drum roller coaster moments and the “fire-spitting” bass performance of Nikki Sixx.
The film will also include exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of the last week of the tour.
Sixx explained that he isn’t sure how he’ll feel once the band gets up on stage for one last time.
“We’ve been kind of dodging that question for two years and now there’s no getting out of it,” Sixx told Billboard. “We’re pretty rough-and-tumble dudes, but even the toughest guy going in for his last fight is going to feel a pang in his heart.”
Since beginning the Final Tour in July 2014, Motley Crue have played more than 164 concerts on five continents.
Christian Lamb will direct the concert portion of the film, while Jeff Tremaine, is confirmed to direct the documentary segment.
Produced and distributed by Live Alliance, the film will premiere in theaters worldwide, as well as via Pay Per View in all cable/satellite/digital formats.
