MORRISSEY CONCERT TICKETS ON SALE NOW!
Morrissey has been active on social media by posting throwbacks of old performances and photos from his time in the band The Smiths, a rock group which he was the lead singer for from 1982 to 1987. Since then Morrissey has been pursuing a successful solo career.
On April 7, he posted a video from 1991 on the Tonight Show.
On June 2, Morrissey tweeted in solidarity with Black Out Tuesday by saying, “#TheShowMustBePaused.” However, Morrissey’s post was met with backlash as he is known to have close ties to a radical and racist political group in Britain.
The movement was started as a way for those to pause normal life and reflect on racial injustices that have been occurring, especially in the United States during the wake of George Floyd’s death. Floyd was an African American man who was killed in police custody by an officer kneeling on his neck.
