Monica Lewinsky Tweets Cryptic Message As Bill Clinton Meets Theresa May

Monica Lewinsky tweeted out a cryptic message as Bill Clinton was going to meet with UK Prime Minster Theresa May.

MONICA LEWINSKY CRYPTIC TWEET

“If I had a dollar for every time I find myself thinking: hypocrisy knows no bounds,” the tweet read. Lewinsky and Clinton had an affair while the latter was in the White House. Lewinsky has since said she “deeply regrets” the relationship. “Sure, my boss took advantage of me, but I will always remain firm on this point: it was a consensual relationship. Any ‘abuse’ came in the aftermath, when I was made a scapegoat in order to protect his powerful position.”

Clinton met with May at Number 10 Downing Street in London Thursday morning, and Clinton reported that the pair “had a wonderful talk.” The President was in the meeting for about 45 minutes, and a spokeswoman shares, “they discussed Northern Ireland and HIV and AIDS treatment.”

Another spokesperson said he was unaware of Lewinsky’s tweet until after the meeting and declined to comment.

Lewinsky also controversially joined the Twitter and Facebook voices writing “#MeToo,” to express that they have been sexually harassed. Clinton accuser Juanita Broaddrick was upset by Lewinsky’s tweet. “Better late than never Monica Lewinsky’s ME TOO. I have always felt sad for you,but where were you when we needed you?” she said. “Your silence was deafening in the 90’s when Kathleen, Paula and I needed your voice.”

The #MeToo hashtag was spawned after dozens of women came forward and accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault and even rape. Last week, a Prime Minster spokeswoman expressed concern about the ongoing scandal with Weinstein. Downing Street has not ruled out stripping the producer of his honorary CBE that was awarded to him by the Queen in 2014 for his services to the British film industry.

The spokesperson was worried, “But on the issue of honors, that’s obviously an independent process carried out by the Forfeiture Committee. Each case is considered on its merits, but that’s entirely separate from us.”
