A New Jersey TikTok influencer has been slammed for taking her seven-year-old daughter to get a spray tan.

“Momfluencer” Noel LaPalomento and her daughter, Giada, regularly do makeover activities together, such as face masks, hair styling and nail treatments, usually to the delight of their fans – but their latest excursion has elicited major backlash from viewers.

LaPalomento started the internet hullabaloo when she joked about Giada asking to join her for a spray tan.

La Palomento followed up with a TikTok showcasing the duo’s experience at the salon and later posted the results. In the videos, LaPalomento explained that Giada’s aunt was a spray tan artist, and the tanning solution was made of “just sugar and water,” adding, “mind your business.”

Despite the seemingly safe and good-natured intentions behind the tan, the comment section of the TikTok was soon overflowing with judgmental remarks about LaPalomento’s parenting style.

One person wrote, “Do we not say no anymore?” While another quipped, “I didn’t even know what a spray tan was at 7…”

However, fans of the influencer were quick to defend LaPalomento, with many emphasizing, “It’s not like anyone is going to get hurt.”

One viewer commented, “I just feel like it sets a certain beauty standard at a young age,” to which LaPalomento replied, “She knows makeup, nails, etc, is just for fun and a way to express yourself and be creative.”

Subsequently, many people also complimented the mother-daughter look, calling it “parenting goals” and asking for the name of the salon. One comment playfully quipped, “This is so WRONG!!!!! Simply because I didn’t get to join this iconic girls’ day.”

Although there is no specific age minimum for getting a spray tan, it is typically not recommended for children, as there are risks of inhaling harmful chemicals and skin irritation. Researchers in the past have advised against such treatments at a young age, citing concerns that it may cause permanent breathing issues and possibly cancer.
