Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell landed fourth runner-up at the Miss Universe pageant, causing an uproar among viewers who believe she should have taken home the crown.

Twitter Loves Miss Jamaica

Miss Jamaica stunned on Sunday evening’s Miss Universe pageant, winning over audiences both at home and at the actual event, where crowd members audibly booed when Fennell was named fourth runner-up – the last place in the Top 5. The Miss Universe crown was instead awarded to Miss Colombia Paulina Vega.

Early on in the competition, Miss Jamaica stood out from her fellow contestants with her pixie-cut hair, the only short hairdo on the stage. “I am just representing myself with what I see best. That is what beauty overall is about…there is no standard look to anybody,” Fennell said in her introduction.

Fennell continued to win over viewers when she named Bob Marley and Usain Bolt in her Q&A response when asked what she believed to be her country’s greatest contribution to the world. Needless to say, audiences watching at home were furious when she was declared fifth place, and Miss Jamaica continues to be a popular trending topic on Twitter almost 24 hours later.
