Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin didn’t mince her words when asked for her thoughts on Donald Trump‘s success in the GOP primary polls during the Miss America pageant.
Miss America judge Tara Kyle, the widow of Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle who was immortalized in Clint Eastwood‘s American Sniper, was the one to ask McGuffin for her take on Trump during the pageant’s Q&A portion.
“According to a poll released this week, Donald Trump is leading Republican candidates by 32 percent of the votes,” Kyle said, asking, “Why do you think he’s leading by such an overwhelming margin?”
McGuffin, who ended up in fourth place in the pageant, answered by not only calling Trump an “entertainer,” but expressing her belief that Republicans should be “terrified” of the success Trump has maintained since entering the race earlier this year.
“I think Donald Trump is an entertainer,” McGuffin said. “And I think he says what’s on a lot of people’s minds but I think that the Republican party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he is taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie who could absolutely do the job of president of the United States. And if I were a Republican, I would absolutely be terrified of that. Thank you.”
Throughout his presidential run thus far, Trump hasn’t been shy about calling out his detractors. However, as of yet, he has opted not to respond to McGuffin’s comments.
