Actress Mira Sorvino is praising her famous father Paul Sorvino after he threatens to kill Harvey Weinstein.
The Goodfellas actor recently appeared in a video on TMZ as he rallied against the shamed Hollywood producer, who has been accused of sexual harassment, assault, and rape by over 80 women. “He’s gonna go to jail. Oh, yeah. That son of a bitch,” Sorvino told the camera. “Good for him that he goes, because if not, he has to meet me, and I will kill the motherf–ker. Real simple.”
Mira is one of the accusers who spoke out against Weinstein, who felt her career had been ruined by his actions. “Just seeing this after I awoke, I burst out crying. There it is, confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career, something I suspected but was unsure,” she said in December. “Thank you Peter Jackson for being honest. I’m just heartsick.”
Mira again took to Twitter to praise her father after his outburst, but did not directly refer to his words on Weinstein. “My love for my father has only continued to grow since this moment,” she said, speaking about the moment she won an Oscar win for 1995’s Mighty Aphrodite. “All the love in my heart! He is the most loving father, the most brilliant actor, the most beautiful operatic tenor, the most talented visual artist- the wisest and most human advice giver, & best Grandpa ever!!”
Her reply on Twitter came in response to writer Yashar Ali‘s thread on the social media site about Sorvino’s threat. He outlined the interaction between Sorvino and TMZ, and mentioned the connection between Weinstein and Mira. She specifically replied to Ali’s mention of her Oscar speech.
