Milo Yiannopoulos Makes TV Debut On ‘Real Time With Bill Maher’ [VIDEO]

Milo Yiannopoulos, the British right-wing journalist, appeared on Bill Maher’s HBO show, Real Time.

Despite Yiannopoulos’ and Maher’s opposing political views, there were no explosive arguments on the show. Instead, the two even seemed to find common ground.

Yiannopoulos, who is openly gay and an editor at Breitbart News, caused a controversy by appearing on the show. Some of Maher’s guests even refused to appear alongside him. Journalist Jeremy Scahill, previously scheduled to appear on the show, said that Maher gave the Breitbart editor “a large, important platform to openly advocate his racist, anti-immigrant campaign.”

Maher started out the conversation by saying, “I think you’re colossally wrong. But if I banned everyone from my show who I thought was colossally wrong, I’d be talking to myself.”

His guest agreed, saying, “If you don’t show up to debate, you lose.”

The conversation moved towards the role of unfiltered humor in society. Yiannopoulos insulted comedians Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman, who he said were likable until they “contracted feminism.’ He said something similar about Lena Duhnam, but Maher interrupted him. “Let’s not bash fellow HBO stars,” Maher said jokingly.

The real confrontation occurred when Yiannopoulos began speaking with other panelists on the show. He implied that transgender people have a “psychotic disorder,” and suggested that Maher should “start inviting higher IQ guests or this is going to be a disaster.” This provoked a swift response from comedian Larry Wilmore: “You can go f— yourself, all right?”
