Miley Cyrus, who has been known to rock some eye-catching ensembles on red carpets, never wants to walk another one again.
Cyrus has been in the entertainment industry for so long it’s hard to believe that she’s only 23-years-old. During her career in the spotlight, the singer and actress has walked her fair share of red carpets. After walking the red carpet for Netflix’s A Very Murray Christmas, Cyrus said she realized that she’d had enough of the photo op procession.
“[A year ago] I had to do the [A Very Murray Christmas] premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again,” Cyrus told Elle magazine in a recent interview. “Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m ‘important’? Because I’m ‘famous’? That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit—it’s like Zoolander.”
Cyrus also worries about other people who have been in the industry for the better part of their lives, like Britney Spears, who she knows through her manager, Adam Leber.
“I just want Britney to be happy. Every time she puts out new music, I’m like, ‘Is that what she wants to be doing? Or does she just want to chill?,'” Cyrus admitted, adding, “She’s looking so good right now, and looking happy.”
Cyrus has been keeping a relatively low profile in recent months, but will be returning to TV this fall. Not only is she serving as a judge on The Voice when it returns later this month, she’ll also be starring in Woody Allen‘s Amazon series Crisis in Six Scenes.
