Miley Cyrus 'Vogue' Cover Called Off After VMA's Performance

Miley Cyrus was scheduled to appear on the December issue cover of Vogue magazine, but the magazine’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has changed her mind.

After seeing Cyrus’ twerk-filled sexually suggestive performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last month, Wintour apparently thought better of having the 20-year-old grace the cover of her magazine. "Anna found the whole thing distasteful,” a source told the Daily Mail. "She decided, based on Miley's performance, to take the cover in a different direction.”

Cyrus’ time onstage during the VMAs – performing her hit “We Can’t Stop” and a duet with Robin Thicke on “Blurred Lines” – was the most talked about part of the night. While Cyrus welcomed the attention, the majority of it was far from positive. Most found her nude latex ensemble, foam finger waving and tongue wagging off-putting to say the least. Some were outraged, including the Parents Television Council and Morning Joe cohost Mika Brzezinski.

Cyrus, who has already shot the spread for the high-end fashion magazine, doesn’t seem to be too distraught if the reports concerning Wintour’s change of heart are true. She’s been travelling through Europe over the last several days, posting glamour shots of her own. While in Germany, she posted a picture with the caption: “#TomFord #vintagechanel #breakinouttheLoubz.”

Cyrus’s twerking at the MTV awards show also reportedly alienated her fiancé, Paranoia actor Liam Hemsworth. Hemsworth, 23, found the performance “mortifying,” a source told Us Weekly, and is looking to break it off for good with the entertainer.
