Miley Cyrus has taken back her apology for a nude Vanity Fair photoshoot 10 years ago.
Cyrus shared a photo of a New York Post cover that had a photo of her then 15 year of self posing with her back showing while her front was covered with a blanket. The headline of the paper read “Miley’s Shame” with a subheadline “TV’s ‘Hannah’ apologizes for near nude pic.”
The photo was taken by Annie Leibovitz for a Vanity Fair article, but there was a media uproar about the appearance of Cyrus. At that time, Cyrus issued a statement to “save” her innocent Disney image. “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.” A spokesperson for Disney at the time said the photographer “deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old girl in order to sell magazines.”
Now, 10 years later, Cyrus took back her apology over the weekend after posting childhood photos of herself. “IM NOT SORRY F–k you #10yearsago ” was her caption for the tweet.
