Miley Cyrus To Host MTV VMAs, Complete VMA’s Nominee List

Miley Cyrus announced Monday that she will be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. She posted on her Instagram account a photo showing her in a green alien costume, holding a sign saying “MTV won’t let me perform” and “So I’m hosting this year’s VMAs.”

Cyrus and the VMAs share a long love story together. Two years ago, Cyrus performed in her underwear with Robin Thicke at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Last year, when being given the video of the year honor for “Wrecking Ball,” she tried to make herself the voice of America’s homeless youth problem by inviting a homeless man on stage with her.

MTV announced all the VMAs nominees via Beats 1 radio on Apple Music. Taylor Swift led the nomination with nine nods. Complete nominees’ list below:
