Miley Cyrus Confirms She’s Married To Liam Hemsworth

It’s official! After nine years of dating on and off, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are legally married.

The Disney Chanel alum shared the news on Wednesday, December 26, through a series of Instagram posts which included black-and-white photos of the newlyweds from their small ceremony which took place over the weekend.

“This is probably our one-millionth kiss…” Cyrus captioned one of the photos of the two sharing a passionate kiss.

“12.23.18,” the 26-year-old wrote in another caption of the couple embracing each other. “10 years later…..” she added in another post.

Hemsworth also took to Instagram to reveal the news by posting a photo that Cyrus also shared.

“My love❤️,” he wrote as the caption.

On Monday, rumors surfaced that Cyrus and Hemsworth had tied the knot after surfer Conrad Carr posted Instagram story footage of the two cutting a cake at their Nashville home. In one of the clips, the “Malibu” singer was seen wearing a light-colored-off-the-shoulder dress, while the Hunger Games star was seen dressed in a black tuxedo with a boutonniere. Cyrus’s mother, Tish, was also caught on camera looking onto the moment with adoration.

Carr also captured a video of Hemsworth taking shots with his brothers Luke and Chris Hemsworth, with “Mr. & Mrs.” balloons seen in the background as the partygoers continued to cheer. Cyrus’s sister, Noah Cyrus also shared a photo of herself with tears in her eyes while giving the camera a thumbs-up on her Instagram story.

In 2009, Hemsworth and Cyrus met on the set of The Last Song and began dating, and by 2012 they were engaged. The Aussie actor had proposed to Cyrus with a 3.5-carat Neil Lane ring.

In September 2013, the couple split, but ended up back together by January 2016, when Miley was spotted wearing the ring again. During the summer of 2016, Hemsworth revealed that the breakup was “actually a good decision” at the time. “We were both going in different directions, and it’s just what needed to happen,” he said. “We were both super young … We both needed that.”

Cyrus also opened up about their breakup and reconciliation on SiriusXM in May 2017. “I think people that break up and get back together, that’s awesome,” she said at the time. “You get time to be yourself. You get time to grow up. I think if you’re growing up attached to another person, you never really get solid as your own being. So I’m really solid, and then he gets to be really solid. And together we get to be two really grounded people. It’s not a half and a half making a whole.”

Recently, the newlyweds lost their home that they had been living in due to the California fires last month. Following the devastating loss, the couple donated $500,000 to The Malibu Foundation.
