Ashton Kutcher posted a video teasing his critics after he and his wife, Mila Kunis, sparked widespread debate over comments about bathing their children.

The discussion kicked off when the pair appeared on the Armchair Expert podcast and remarked that they don’t bathe their kids every day. The subject came up when Dax Shepard told his cohost Monica Padman that she “should not be getting rid of the natural oil on your skin with a bar of soap every day” and should only use water some days. Kutcher and Kunis agreed.

While talking about their children, Kutcher added, “Now, here’s the thing: If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.”

Fans and other celebrities also shared their opinions on bathing habits on social media, fueling an online frenzy.

Kutcher posted the Instagram video in response to all the feedback he and Kunis received from the interview.

He captioned the post, “This bathing thing is out of hand. #KutcherBathroomTalks

During the clip, Kutcher feigned disbelief, shouting, “You’re putting water on the children?! Are you trying to melt them?! This is ridiculous! What’s going on?”

Kunis smiled as she held back laughter, telling her husband, “We’re bathing our children.”

He gasped, “That’s like the fourth time this week!”

“It’s too much!” she agreed and Kutcher added, “Their body oils are gonna be destroyed! What are you trying to do?”

In response to the couple’s previous statements, Jake Gyllenhaal confessed to Vanity Fair, “more and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times.” He said, “I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves.”

Dwayne Johnson, on the other hand, posted a tweet clarifying that he was in favor of frequent bathing.  “Nope, I’m the opposite of a ‘not washing themselves’ celeb. Shower (cold) when I roll outta bed to get my day rollin’. Shower (warm) after my workout before work. Shower (hot) after I get home from work. Face wash, body wash, exfoliate and I sing (off key) in the shower,” he said.

Other celebrities, like Cardi B and Chris Evans, have also positioned themselves as Team Bathing, taking sides in the light-hearted social media debate.
