Those wacky Beach Boys are at it again, airing their disputes in public, and just as their 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour is wrapping up in London. Original Beach Boys member Mike Love, who owns the rights to the group's name, is kicking out cornerstones Brian Wilson and Al Jardine — both of whom are also original members — as well as David Marks.
The Beach Boys are set to continue touring in the fall, according to Entertainment Weekly, but they will be doing it without Wilson, Jardine and Marks. Who's left, you ask. Love, of course, and Bruce Johnston. It has also been rumored that John Stamos, who has famously adored the Beach Boys since his Full House days, might come on board for backup.
"I'm disappointed and can't understand why he doesn't want to tour with Al, David and me," Wilson told CNN. "We are out there having so much fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys."
Jardine tweeted a support petition for people to follow, writing, "In order to preserve the validity of 'THE BEACH BOYS' as a whole, and not as a 'money saving, stripped down version' that only contains 1 original member, and 1 member that joined in 1965, we ask you to re-instate the 3 other members to the touring group for your final years performing."
No word on previous rumors that the Beach Boys will record another album in 2013.
