MSNBC’ Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski revealed that counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway secretly hates her boss, or so she told the hosts in private conversations after appearing on their show. Conway has since responded, claiming the allegations are false.
Scarborough and Brzezinski began discussing the topic because of a recent spout between Conway and CNN’s Anderson Cooper, in which Conway accused Cooper of sexism after the host rolled his eyes.
“This is a woman, by the way, who came on our show during the campaign and would shill for Trump in extensive fashion,” Brzezinski said. “Then she would get off the air, the camera would be turned off, the microphone would be taken off and she would say, ‘Bleh, I need to take a shower,’ because she disliked her candidate so much.”
Scarborough, who recently asked Brzezinksi to marry him, echoed his fiancé’s statement, saying that Conway said that working for Donald Trump was in pursuit of a summer vacation in Europe.
Scarborough also mentioned that he found it interesting that after the Access Hollywood tape came out – the one in which the President bragged about grabbing women’s genitalia – Conway began to refer to Trump as her “client,” so as not to exhibit any personal relationship between herself and the candidate.
On Tuesday afternoon, Conway responded to the hosts allegations on Twitter, first defending herself and then showing her support for Trump.
“The hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe have become virulent critics of the President and those close to him,” Conway said. “Ignoring insults and insinuations is a valuable skill. But when sentiments are attributed to me that are not true, it is necessary to respond.”
Conway dismissed Scarborough’s claims that she only worked for the money, citing the fact that she could be making more money elsewhere.
“The notion that I am serving for ‘the money’ or a ‘paycheck’ is absurd … I walked away from dozens of opportunities for millions of dollars, and instead walked into the White House. I would do it again.”
Finally, Conway pledged her loyalty to Trump, something she has done on television countless times.
“I know [Trump], I respect him, I believe in him, and I am confident in his capacity to be a transformative and successful President.”
