‘Migrant Influencer’ Leonel Moreno, Who Promoted Illegal Squatting In Homes On TikTok, Ordered Out Of Country By Judge

Leonel Moreno, 27, who went viral on social media for bragging about how much money he makes and promoting squatting in homes, has been ordered to be deported from the U.S. by a judge.

The Venezuelan illegal immigrant has amassed significant attention on social media for mocking the U.S.

Now, an Ohio-based judge has ordered that he be kicked out of the U.S.

Moreno illegally traveled across the southern border into Eagle Pass, Texas, on April 23, 2022.

Moreno was arrested in March for failing to show up for his required check-ins with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Regardless of the judge’s instructions, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s administration stopped accepting flights of migrants, which could complicate the deportation process for Moreno and many others.

In January, Maduro’s administration put a halt on flights for migrants deported from the U.S. and Mexico as a form of retaliation for Washington bringing back economic sanctions on Venezuela.

In the meantime, migrant crime is on the rise from the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua as they are now popping up in major U.S. cities.

In June, a 19-year-old gang member associated with Tren de Aragua was accused of shooting two NYPD officers in New York City.

Although Moreno has not been linked to the gang, he has used his TikTok fame to encourage others from his country to flee while bragging about the potential support they could receive from the U.S. government.

“I didn’t cross the Rio Grande to work like a slave,” Moreno said in a clip. “I came to the U.S. to mark my territory.”

In his TikToks, Moreno has also boasted about being given $350 weekly in government handouts.

Moreno remains in custody at the Geauga County jail in Ohio. Still, in an interview he had from jail in April, the viral migrant claimed he had become a victim of unjust persecution.

“I came here to the United States because of persecution in my country … But they’re doing the same thing to me in the United States — persecuting me,” Moreno said.
