Rap group Migos reportedly got into a fight with singer Chris Brown‘s entourage during an after party following the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday night.
The incident allegedly began when a member of Migos’ entourage threw a punch at someone in Brown’s entourage. The confrontation quickly escalated as all three members of Migos –Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff – became involved. Brown was not involved in the scrap.
Several other musicians and celebrities where on hand for the fight, although none appeared to participate. DJ Khaled and his newborn son, Asahd Khaled, were in the vicinity of the fight, as was rapper Future.
According to TMZ, the fight spilled out into the parking lot, where it was eventually settled before anyone was seriously harmed. No one was arrested or charged for taking part in the fight.
While the reasons behind the fight’s origin are unknown, it has been speculated that it had to do with Quavo’s new girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, an ex of Brown’s who recently was granted a permanent restraining order against the “Loyal” singer.
It wasn’t the only fight Migos was involved in during the night.
While being interviewed by Complex‘s “Everyday Struggle,” a serious fight was only moments away from happening.
“Everyday Struggle,” a show hosted by DJ Akademiks, Joe Budden, and Nadeska Alexis, was interviewing Migos after the show when Akademiks asked why Takeoff wasn’t on the rap group’s biggest record, “Bad and Boujee.”
In a truly odd exchange, Takeoff said, “I ain’t left off “Bad and Boujee.”
“Say it again?” Akademiks asked, leaning forward to hear better.
Akademiks continued to have trouble hearing Takeoff, and Budden, a rapper who has highly criticized new rappers including Migos, grew visibly frustrated and urged his co-host to wrap it up.
After Akademiks praises Migos, Budden droped his microphone on the floor and stood up, walking off camera. Quavo and the rest of Migos also droped their mics and start walking towards Budden.
While words are exchanged, Alexis can be heard calling out for security. Luckily, the fight never quite materialized.
Migos won the BET award for Best Collaboration for their work on “Bad and Boujee,” at the ceremony.
