Mick Jagger Mocks Trump For Fourth Of July ‘Airports’ Speech

During The Rolling Stones concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Sunday, Mick Jagger mocked President Donald Trump from his Independence Day speech.

Jagger mentioned that the American holiday was always a “touchy holiday for us Brits.”

“In fact, the president made a very good point in his speech the other night,” Jagger continued. “If only the British held on to the airports, the whole thing might have gone differently for us.”

Trump recalled the Revolutionary War in his speech, in which he stated, “Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over airports, it did everything it had to do,” he said. “And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory. When dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant.”

Many people took note of the President’s mistake and quickly turned it into a meme on social media. It also inspired the hashtag #RevolutionaryWarAirportStories.

Jagger is known for not having a good relationship with Trump. After the Trump campaign used songs from the band, such as “Start Me Up” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” at rallies, the Stones issued a statement on Twitter noting that they did not endorse Trump and that they had not given permission to use their music.
