It was announced Thursday that Jagger and his 29-year-old girlfriend, ballerina Melanie Hamrick, are expecting. While it’s a first for the couple and for Hamrick, it will mark the eighth time that Jagger will welcome a child.
“This is great news. It will be Mick’s eighth child and nothing fazes him. He’s been incredibly supportive, a source told The Sun. “[Melanie] is very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life. She knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can’t wait for him to be a dad again. They are taking the news in their stride.”
Jagger’s kids range in age from 45 to 17. His eldest is Karis Hunt, 45, from his relationship with Marsha Hunt. He’s also father to daughter Jade, 44, with ex-wife Bianca Jagger. From his long-term relationship with Jerry Hall, he had model Georgia, 24, Gabriel,18, James, 30, and Lizzie, 32. His youngest child is son Lucas, 17, with Brazilian model and TV host Luciana Gimenez.
Jagger also has five grandchildren, and recently became a great-grandfather.
