First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a reading of Dr. Seuss’s Oh, The Things You Can Do That Are Good for You! in the East Room of the White House Wednesday morning.
The day following her husband’s State of the Union address, the FLOTUS entertained more than 30 children from local schools for the reading, reported ABC News. She was joined by The Cat in the Hat as well as Dr. Seuss characters Thing One and Thing Two. Together, they led the children in reading the children’s book.
The updated version of Oh, The Things You Can Do That Are Good for You! features 16 additional pages of material about teaching healthy living and eating to youngsters.
As part of the Let’s Read! Let’s Move! program, the event also featured some silly exercises for the kids. “Get on your feet, and show me what you’ve got,” Obama cheered while participating in the activities herself.
Random House Children’s Books will release the revised edition of Oh, The Things You Can Do That Are Good for You! Jan. 27.
Brown will be accompanied by guest artists Scotty McCreery, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ashley Cooke and Dasha.
