Michelle Obama celebrated her 57th birthday on Sunday, receiving numerous celebratory wishes from friends and family. The former-First Lady took to Instagram to share a natural, black-and-white photo to thank everyone for the birthday messages.
“Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes!” she captioned the photo. “I know this past year has been difficult for us all on so many levels, so I just hope you all are taking care of yourselves and finding joy in the smallest moments. Love you all.
Obama, who recently opened up about her low-grade depression due to quarantine and the Trump Administration, has been candid in the past year about her thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement and the recent attack on the U.S. Capitol, in addition to “social distance fatigue”.
Former President Barack Obama also wished his wife a happy birthday over social media, sharing a throwback photo and captioning it, “Happy birthday to my love, my partner, and my best friend. Every moment with you is a blessing. Love you, Miche.”
Both Barack and Michelle Obama are slated to attend their former Vice President Joe Biden’s inauguration this Wednesday, along with the Bush and Clinton families.
