Michelle Obama Joins Bruce Springsteen On Stage As Backup Singer On “Glory Days”
On Friday, Michelle Obama sang backup vocals and played the tambourine on stage at a Bruce Springsteen concert at Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain. The former first lady took the stage with Steven Spielberg‘s wife, Kate Capshaw, to perform “Glory Days” with Springsteen and the E Street Band.
The previous day, former President Barack Obama, Springsteen and Spielberg ate dinner at the Amar restaurant in the Palace Hotel. Barack, Michelle and Spielberg then visited cultural locations around the city including the Sagrada Familia Basilica and the Picasso Museum.

Last week, Netflix released The Light We Carry: Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey, an interview between the pair that took place on the last day of Michelle’s tour for her new book The Light We Carry.
Springsteen endorsed Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012 and played at his Inaugural Address the following year. Obama awarded Springsteen the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016. After his presidency, Obama published a book with Springsteen entitled Renegades: Born in the USA in which the two friends talk about music and their experiences living in the U.S.
Springsteen and the E Street Band are scheduled to tour around Europe this summer. They will perform in the United States in August and into the fall. The tour ends on December 8 in San Francisco, California.
