Michael Kopech Files For Divorce From Pregnant ‘Riverdale’ Star Vanessa Morgan After 6 Months Of Marriage

Chicago White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech has filed for divorce from pregnant Riverdale actress Vanessa Morgan after six months of marriage. Kopech filed for divorce in Morris County, Texas on June 19 while Morgan announced her pregnancy via Instagram this past Friday.

In her post Morgan wrote, “Exciting news… I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January 💙. This little guy has already brought me so much happiness and a feeling of such a greater purpose. I cannot wait to meet you!!”

She added, “Thank you God for this blessing ☺️ I’m just so happy & can’t wait to dedicate everyday to being the best mommy I can be ♥️ “I’ll love you forever I’ll like you for always as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be 🎶 “- if you know you know #preggers 🤰🏽 #quarantine🎁 👶🏼.”

The couple got married in January at the Walton historic House in Florida in a small ceremony with only 40 guests. They were engaged in July 2019 after a year of dating. 

Kopech has since deleted his Instagram account, but had originally announced the engagement on the platform. He said, “So I’ll start with the obvious: I love you. I love you intensely, passionately, & also at times, recklessly. I make decisions on the spur of the moment (i mean look at how our relationship has gone up to this point).”

He went on, “I’m a very non traditional type of person and I know I’ve found my match in you when it comes to that especially. Our relationship probably doesn’t make sense to many people for a s— ton of reasons, but we’re not doing it for them. We know this is forever. Why would we wait? Lol.”

Morgan shared a photo of the two in front of a waterfall on July 3 with Kopech down on one knee.
